Alterations and Restyled Clothing Workshop
Waistband need taking in? Want to turn that dress into a top? Add bling to your favorite pair of jeans? Come learn how to alter and restyle your favorite wearables. Bring any garment you are interested in altering (more than one or two is best) and we'll make it work for you. Learn to love your clothes again.
Some machine experience necessary. On-going workshop. Drop-ins welcome, but please call ahead. Online registrants please indicate desired class date(s) in Comment field.

Beginning Sewing Part I
This one-session class goes over the basics of machine sewing. Learn how to thread and operate a machine and get introduced to essential stitches with dozens of applications. Students make a cushy pillow. Online registrations, please indicate date desired in comment field.

Beginning Sewing Part II
Spread your sewing wings to put together a bigger more advanced project. Students who've learned the basics in Part I can join any of these workshops to make a roomy laundry bag, handy yoga bag, or customize a shopping bag. Make the Whole Foods bagger say WOW. Beltmaking
It's finally here! Join us for a super-cool workshop to make a custom belt. Class covers leather stamping, dying, painting and studding. Leaves, stars, skulls flowers, letters, rhinestones. Yeehaw, baby.

Commercial Pattern Workshop
If you picked out a sweet dress pattern and the perfect fabric but found yourself lost, this is the workshop for you. Drop in for one or several sessions to get guidance on fashioning your personally made garment from a commercial pattern. Students bring in own pattern and fabric. Final fling
Join us for some last days of summer sewing fun. Summer camp is over but we'll hold one more project class for the folks heading back to school. Students can make a custom bag, or and organizer to start the year off right. This class is for ages 7-15, but parents are welcome to join, if the kids will let them... beginning and intermediate stitchers welcome. One session. $55

Gumdrop Pillow Workshop
With Sarah Tracy You've seen the cushy pillow at Common Threads and wanted to boot the kid off so you could sit on it yourself. Now you can make one for your home and it will be all yours. Join us for a one-session workshop to make Amy Butler's Gumdrop pillow in 18" or 24". Ftuff it as full as you want and put it in your favorite corner. Sunday Kids Sewing
If your child aches to get technical with his or her creations, this is the class for them! We invite kids ages 7-11 to come to this fun Sunday class to learn machine basics and create a personalized keepsake. Just think: merit badges, costumes, hemming and repair jobs can be briskly taken care of by your own sewing prodigy.
